The Making of Swapperr

Hello, this is my devlog on how I made Swapperr for the Sykoo gamejam.

Idea

I was originally not planning on taking part in the jam, because I didn't like the theme (black and white), until something clicked in my head, and I came up with an idea for a simple puzzle game where a block's color would determine a behaviour set, and I started working on it the next morning.

Production

The next morning I booted up my pc, started unity and started quickly making some mechanics, the behaviour sets for the blocks, and the basic swapper mechanic. After this I made three levels, starting really easy, but getting more difficult.

I didn't get to work on the game for the next few days, and could only start again on friday, I made the arrow block mechanic, and added two more levels, and started playtesting.

Playtesting

I playtested the game with just one person, which helped me iron out some bugs, but it hopefully was enough, so I submitted the game to the game jam about five hours before time.
